How to Remove Unknown Stains before Drycleaning (PERC)
Watch the video below or follow the step-by-step instructions to learn how to remove unknown stains before drycleaning using a perchloroethylene solvent.

Step 1
Flush stain with Picrin®. If stain remains, go to step 2. If stain is gone, go to step 6.
Step 2
Apply Pyratex®, then flush with Picrin®, then go to step 3.
Step 3
Apply StreeTAN®, then flush with water or steam. If stain is gone, go to step 4. If stain remains, apply StreePRO®, then flush with water or steam and continue to step 4.
Step 4
Apply StreeTAN®, then flush with water or steam. If stain remains, apply StreePRO®, then flush with water or steam.
Step 5
Level with Sofspot® or Multispot®. When rinsing spotting agents in drycleaning with steam or water, it is important to control moisture aka “level” to prevent spotting rings and fabric damage. To level:
a. After fabric has been rinsed and air-dried, apply leveling agent liberally to the treated areas.
b. Lightly tamp the wet area, including the fabric areas just outside the ring.
c. Do not flush, rinse, or dry.
d. Continue with the drycleaning process.
Step 6
Dryclean as you normally would.
Please note that we recommend testing the stain removal agent on an unexposed seam prior to application on the stain if you are unsure of the nature of the stain.
