Below are the steps you will take to remove a mud stain prior to cleaning in a perchloroethylene solvent.
Step 1
Apply Mulsolite® then flush with water or steam. If stain remains, go to step 2. If stain is gone, go to step 4.
Step 2
Apply WetDry®, then flush with water or steam.
Step 3
If stain is gone, go to step 4, If stain remains, check out the helpful tips below.
Step 4
Level with Sofspot® or Multispot®. When rinsing spotting agents in drycleaning with steam or water, it is important to control moisture or “level” to help prevent spotting rings and fabric damage. To level:
- After fabric has been rinsed and air-dried, apply leveling agent liberally to the treated areas.
- Lightly tamp the wet area, including fabric area just outside of the ring.
- Do not flush, rinse, or dry.
- Continue with drycleaning process.
Step 5
Dryclean as you normally would.
Please note that we recommend testing the stain removal agent on an unexposed seam prior to application on the stain if you are unsure of the nature of the stain.

HELPFUL TIPS
- If stain remains, apply General Formula No. 209, tamp lightly and then flush with steam.
- Then after thoroughly flushing with steam, apply Devour letting it work for at least 15 minutes.
- Remember to be PATIENT because some stains require a longer digestion time than others.
- After waiting for the digestion process to work, flush with steam.
- If stain remains, bleach if fabric/colors allow. Sodium perborate is recommended.
