HOW TO REMOVE VARNISH STAINS
Below are the steps you will take to remove a varnish stain prior to cleaning in a high flash hydrocarbon solvent.
Apply Pyratex® LV, if stain remains, flush with water or steam then go to step 2. If stain is gone go to step 5.
Apply WetDry®, then flush with water or steam.
If stain is gone go to step 4. If stain remains, check out some of our pro tips below!
Level with Sofspot® or SPOTless® hc. When rinsing spotting agents in drycleaning with steam or water, it is important to control moisture aka “level” to prevent spotting rings and fabric damage. To level:
a. After fabric has been rinsed and air-dried, apply leveling agent liberally to the treated areas.
b. Lightly tamp the wet area, including the fabric areas just outside the ring.
c. Do not flush, rinse, or dry.
d. Continue with the drycleaning process.
Dryclean as you normally would.
Please note that we recommend testing the stain removal agent on an unexposed seam prior to application on the stain if you are unsure of the nature of the stain.
