Street’s Introduces New EPA-Compliant Formulas

For Picrin®, Puro® And Semi-Wet® Stain Removal Products

R.R. Street & Co. Inc. (Street’s) is pleased to announce new trichloroethylene-free formulations of Picrin, Puro and Semi-Wet that are compliant with US EPA Final Risk Management Rules for Trichloroethylene. Picrin was introduced to the drycleaning industry over 80 years ago and has been an incredibly important product for the industry.  It has gone through multiple iterations over the years as the regulatory environment changed.

These newly formulated products are drop-in replacements for the current formulations and can and should be used in the same manner with the same benefits.  The newly formulated Picrin still can continue to be combined with Streetex® Pre-Spotter to formulate 2-1 Formula® Combination Wet/Dry Spotter.  The only difference in these new formulations is a change in scent.

Street’s will begin shipping the new trichloroethylene-free formulations of these products to distributors the week of May 19, 2025.  End-users of Picrin, Puro and Semi-Wet can continue to use the current formulations until September 15, 2025.

Because these new formulas are fast drying with high volatility, these reformulated products are not allowed for sale or use in California under California Air Resources Board (CARB) regulations.  California cleaners and those looking for lower VOC options can continue to use Pyratex LV® and WetDry™ in place of Picrin and 2-1 Formula, as they have for more than 10 years.
