STEP 4:
Level with Sofspot® or SPOTless® hc. When rinsing spotting agents in drycleaning with steam or water, it is important to control moisture aka “level” to prevent spotting rings and fabric damage. To level:
a. After fabric has been rinsed and air-dried, apply leveling agent liberally to the treated areas.
b. Lightly tamp the wet area, including the fabric areas just outside the ring.
c. Do not flush, rinse, or dry.
d. Continue with the drycleaning process.
STEP 5:
Dryclean as you normally would.
Please note that we recommend testing the stain removal agent on an unexposed seam prior to application on the stain if you are unsure of the nature of the stain.

HELPFUL TIPS
- Paint stains can be made up of many types of components, pigments, oils, resins, etc. Following our basic spotting procedure will give you the most consistent results. However, there will be times you will need to go to more advanced stain removal procedures. Often prolonged soaking in paint, oil, and grease (POG) remover will help loosen components.
- Other times, moving to a wet-side spotting procedure utilizing Mulsolite then steaming, followed up with Streepro, and then some more steam may help for general paint stains. Pigments are the main ingredient in paints and usually do not respond successfully to bleaching.
- In the case of shellacs, varnish, and stains, you will find them to be very difficult to remove with the best procedure being to continue saturating the stain with paint, oil, and grease (POG) remover and rinsing with a volatile dry spotter (VDS).
- In the case of latex paints, conventional oily-type paint removers, while effective on oil-based paints, do not have the same ability to remove latex paint. With Street’s 2-1 FORMULA, latex paint stains can be removed faster and more effectively than with any ready-made spotter. (follow directions on the catalog page)
- In all cases, the sooner the dry cleaner can work on the stain, the higher the success rate will be in removing those stains.
